In memory of Dolores Kirschvink

Dolores "Doris" Lea Kirschvink, 88, of Phoenix, passed away suddenly and peacefully of natural causes on August 25, 2015. She was born in March, 1927, to the late George and Lillian (Gaudete) Huster in Chicago, IL. She attended school in Sanders, AZ near the Navajo Reservation, served at the Navajo Depot in Flagstaff during WW2, and was the valedictorian of Arizona State College (now NAU) in 1949. She had seven children who were all honor students. Her loving husband, Joseph Kirschvink, MD was a Phoenix Valley pediatrician for over 50 years and passed in 2012. She was an active member of the Wigwam County Club. She loved hiking, rafting, golf, and the outdoors. She was a fighter with high moral character, a contagious positive attitude, and was a member of St. Jerome Parish in Phoenix.

Dolores is survived by her seven children: Lily Kirschvink, Mary Martin, Joseph "Butch" Kirschvink, Jim Kirschvink, Steve Kirschvink, Cathy Dowling, and Carol Beardsley; 13 grandchildren, and two brothers: George and Bill Huster.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Kirschvink, and a brother, Larry Huster.

Funeral Mass will be at 10am on September 28 at St. Jerome's Catholic Church, followed by a reception. Interment will take place at 1:30pm at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her honor may be made to St. Jerome Catholic School or Andre House of Hospitality, which serves the needs of the poor and homeless in Phoenix.
